Located in Board of Education District 5 and KCS Region 2, Cedar Bluff Middle School is a vibrant learning community dedicated to serving students in grades 6–8.

Since its opening, Cedar Bluff Middle has been committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and student-centered environment where all learners are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. Through engaging instruction, innovative technology integration, and a focus on building positive relationships, Cedar Bluff empowers students to grow as critical thinkers and problem solvers.

School Administrators

Principal

Desiree' Jones

Desiree’ Jones is the Executive Principal at Cedar Bluff Middle School. A lifelong educator, she began her career teaching English at South-Doyle High School before moving into leadership roles as department chair, master teacher, and assistant principal at multiple schools across Knox County. From 2017 to 2023, she served as Executive Principal at Vine Middle Magnet School, where she led efforts to strengthen instruction and school culture. She holds a B.A. in English, an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, all from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. With more than 25 years of experience in education, Desiree’ is dedicated to fostering academic growth, equity, and a supportive learning community at Cedar Bluff Middle.

6th Grade Principal and Athletic Director

Caleb Horner

Caleb Horner is the Assistant Principal at Cedar Bluff Middle School. He began his career teaching 7th grade social studies in Hamblen County before moving to Halls Middle School, where he taught and served as a lead teacher, discipline dean, and member of the school leadership and instructional development teams. With a decade of classroom and leadership experience, Caleb is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting both students and staff. He earned his B.S. in History and Secondary Education from East Tennessee State University and his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

7th Grade Principal

Sarah Lyle

Sarah Lyle serves as Assistant Administrator at Cedar Bluff Middle School. She began her career as a French teacher in Ontario, Canada, before moving into English Language Arts instruction in Knoxville, where she has taught and led at both the middle and high school levels. Over the past two decades, Sarah has held roles as a department chair, TAP Master Teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum writer with Great Minds. She earned her B.A. and B.Ed. from St. Francis Xavier University and her M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. Passionate about supporting both students and teachers, Sarah brings a wealth of classroom experience and instructional expertise to her leadership role.

8th Grade Principal

Erin Brown

Erin Brown is an Assistant Principal at Cedar Bluff Middle School. She began her career as an English teacher at Fulton High School, where she taught for a decade before moving into school leadership. Since 2016, Erin has served as an assistant principal at the high school and middle school levels, including Fulton High, Carter High, and Hardin Valley Middle, before joining Cedar Bluff in 2024. She holds a B.A. in English Literature and an M.S. in Theory and Practice in Teacher Education from the University of Tennessee, as well as an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. Dedicated to student success, Erin is passionate about creating a supportive and engaging school community.
