School Hours
The school day at CBMS begins at 8:30 and goes until 3:30.  Students arriving early meet in the gym until 8:00 a.m.  If your child arrives AFTER 8:30, he/she needs to go to the office to get an admittance slip.  In the afternoon, students will not be able to check out after 3:10.  Parents may send a note to the office before school and then the child will be allowed to leave after 3:10.  With the end of day activities, calling a student to check out after 3:10 is difficult.

Reminder-
Students need a signed agenda or phone pass to use the telephone in the office.  The charge is 25 cents unless it is for illness or last minute school schedule changes. Class will no longer be interrupted to deliver items.

Students are not allowed to bring skateboards to school.
This decision has been made due to a lack of storage space at school.  We regret this inconvenience, however, we do have bike racks for your bikes.

School Bus Reminder

This is just a reminder that students are not allowed to ride home with other students on the bus.  You may only ride your normal route.
Phone Use Guidelines

All students who want to use the office phone must carry a phone pass provided by a teacher.

There is no charge for emergency phone calls.  Emergency phone calls are defined as:  "illness" or "Going Home" changes due to previously unannounced events or schedule changes.

There will a $.25 charge for all Non-Emergency calls.  The following are NOT emergencies:
  •      Forgotten lunches or lunch money
  •      Forgotten homework
  •      Forgotten permission slips
  •      Informing parents of previously announced events or schedule changes
  •      Etc.
Under NO circumstances may students use the office phone to make last minute arrangements to go home with a classmate.  This requires written parental permission approved in the office before school.

Prestige Cleaners launches fund raising program for KCS

In a kickoff ceremony at Inskip Elementary School Prestige Cleaners and Knox County Schools announced a fundraising program that could garner as much as $30,000-$40,000 annually for area K-12 schools.

Under Project Classroom Prestige will donate a percentage of retail sales revenue to individual Knox County schools every year.  All eight Prestige locations in Knox County will participate in the program.

"This will be a year-round program," said Eddie Mannis, President of Prestige Cleaners. "All our customers need to do is write the name of the school they want to support on the back of their receipts when they pick up their cleaning, and drop the receipt in the display boxes that will be in all of our Knox County stores."

Prestige will donate a portion of the sales total to the schools the customers specify.   In addition, Prestige has worked with the school system to identify several schools that will receive a portion of undesignated funds should customers choose not to identify a particular school.  Prestige will present individual checks to the schools annually, and there will be no restrictions on how these funds may be used.

"We at Prestige believe in giving back to the community in which we live," said Mannis.  "We also feel strongly that supporting education is an ongoing responsibility of the business community.  But we wanted to design a program that would streamline our donations and make a difference to our customers by allowing them to choose where the money goes."

"Education must be a top priority for any community," said Dr. Charles Lindsey, superintendent of Knox County Schools.  "The support of businesses such as Prestige Cleaners is critical to ensuring that here in Knox County we are able to provide the best possible educational opportunities for our young people who will be the community leaders of the future."

How it works

When you visit any Prestige Cleaners location just write the name of the school you wish to support on the back of your cleaning receipt and drop it in the Project Classroom box. At the end of the year Prestige Cleaners will donate a percentage of retail sales to those schools.
